Chelsea vs Tottenham - Premier League

The blues, Chelsea of course and Leicester face off for the third time this month on Sunday and the evidence suggests Thomas Tuchel could be leaving Stamford Bridge the happier of the two managers this weekend.

And they have seen their Premier League title challenge collapse over the last month or so, with a 12-point chasm between themselves and Manchester City and their cushion inside the top four reduced to eight points.

Also however, they remain a formidable outfit with just one defeat in their last 13 competitive games and they haven’t lost a home game since Manchester City visited in September.

Not only that, but they have won all three of their meetings with Spurs this season and haven’t conceded a single goal in the process.

Chelsea predicted lineup: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho; Ziyech, Mount; Lukaku, Werner

Tottenham predicted lineup: Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Royal, Skipp, Winks, Hojbjerg, Reguilon; Kane, Moura

Spurs struggling on the road

Granted, Tottenham will have received a welcome confidence boost after their sensational last-ditch turnaround at Leicester on Wednesday but their 3-0 aggregate loss to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final will weigh heavily on the mind and that could prove the deciding factor at Stamford Bridge.

Spurs have also only won five of their 15 competitive away games this season and just two of their last six, so it’s no surprise to see them as big underdogs here.

The History hints at Blues win

And Chelsea’s January wins against Spurs aren’t the only successes the Blues have enjoyed over their London rivals recently, either. In fact, they haven’t lost in normal time to Spurs in ten games and have won eight of those, so I’m backing a Chelsea win on Sunday.

So the goals have dried up for Tuchel’s side, though. They have scored just two goals in their last three matches and, after three wins to nil against Spurs this season, a 1-0 correct score prediction appeals.
